Article Abstract:

Domestic sales for the US soft drink industry were slower in 1999 than in 1998, and international sales for the year were down, also, but this could change with an improved international economy. The Coca-Cola Co has had problems in 1999 with adverse publicity and a product recall in Europe and the future effects are uncertain. Earnings shortfalls have made these stocks untimely in 1999, but prospects for the future are excellent.
