Speeding up the pace of new product development

Article Abstract:

Providing longer tenure among employees and adopting well-defined time targets are key to facilitating the overall cycle-time of products. A regression analysis involving 10 established firms revealed that managers who delineate product concepts and place a high priority over internal technologies experience increased product cycle-times. It was further shown that activities which rely on computer-assisted design systems tend to act as barriers to product development.
