Midshipmen at the Naval Academy, Annapolis, MD, lost their off-campus privileges after several students committed serious crimes. Two were accused of sexual assault, while five former or current students were accused of automobile theft. Other crimes were breaking and entering and drug sales.

A Supreme Court judge in South Africa ruled that an all-white school in Potgietersrus, South Africa, had to begin admitting black students in accordance with federal law. White parents did not allow three children from entering the school even though they had been admitted.
