Succession and retirement: three ways to cash in on your equity

Article Abstract:

Business owners should look for a successor well in advance of retirement. This will not only give them a better chance of finding the best successor and enable them to supervise the smooth transfer of ownership but will also provide more opportunities to carry out an equitable sell-out that is favorable to both sides. Recapitalization is one method that business owners can use to accomplish a smooth succession and financial security after retirement.
