The revival of Suncorp Metway, AustraliaEs sixth-largest bank and second-largest insurer, under the directions of its managing director John Mulcahy is discussed. Mulcahy had listed four stages on the way of up for Suncorp, i.e., under performing conglomerate, performing conglomerate, successful conglomerate and powerful corporate. As per Mulcahy, the recent 61% rise in the companyEs net profit has helped it cross the second stage.

Sun Aqua, an aquaculture company in Brisbane, is accusing government on misleading and deceiving it on a plan to build a sea cage snapper farm near Brisbane. The company plans to recover almost $I million, which it had already spent and may also, seek damages. The government backed out on its decision after environmental groups and opposition criticized the plan on grounds of possible pollution of the bay from fish excrement.
