Supplier evaluations: communication strategies to improve supplier performance

Article Abstract:

The use of structural equation modeling (SEM) and data collected from 139 first-tier North American automotive suppliers resulted that, contrary to the SDP literature from the buying firm's perspective, the buying firm's communication does not directly influence suppliers' performance. It also indicates that when a buying firm utilizes collaborative communication, the supplier perceives a positive influence on the buyer-supplier relationship.

Focal supplier opportunism in supermarket retailer category management

Article Abstract:

A study uses agency theory to examine the failure of several supermarket retailers in category management of their supplies. The transaction cost involved in their efficient supply chain management is discussed.
