Survey illustrates corporate support for CMA program

Article Abstract:

An Institute of Certified Management Accountants (ICMA)-sponsored survey reveals statistics relating to the viability of becoming a certified management accountant (CMA). Current statistics reveal that over 8,700 people are CMAs. Survey results indicate that 68% of CMAs work in commercial/industrial accounting, and 30% have advanced degrees. Results also indicate that CMAs receive corporate support. Sixty-nine percent of survey respondents say they received paid time off to take the CMA examination. However, nearly 25% of respondents report that their firms do not have any CMA activity involvement, something the ICMA would like to change.
