Tel-Save plans to pick Battista chairman, CEO

Daniel Borislow will step down as chairman and CEO of Tel-Save Holdings Inc. and allow Gabriel Battista to take over all operational duties of the long-distance firm based in New Hope, Pennsylvania. AT&T Bell Labs picks Mayo to succeed Ross in president's post

AT&T Bell Laboratories names John S Mayo as president of the telecommunications industry research unit. Mayo succeeds Ian M Ross, who assumes the title of president emeritus and will assist Randall Tobias for the rest of 1991 in work that involves international expansion for the telephone company. Mayo, who is 61, has been in charge of network systems and services. He has two primary goals: keeping Bell Labs as the foremost research and development laboratory in the industry and bringing technology from the lab to market as quickly as possible.
