Telecom Looks to the Future

Article Abstract:

Andrew J. Lockwood, Marketing Manager of the data division of Telecom, believes that users should purchase automated office equipment and data communications equipment flexible enough to adapt to the steady advance of technology. Lockwood expects intensive development in digital equipment and switch networks in this decade. Within ten or fifteen years Lockwood believes digital networks will be replaced by integrated digital services networks. Telecom is increasing its network capacity, and the speed of its modems and is spending $200 million on packet switching networks. Multiplexing will also be a part of Telecom's product line. Lockwood believes network integration will continue to develop along with integrated services digital networks.
