Telstra stands on its future profits

Article Abstract:

The Asian financial crisis and Wall Street stock market crash actually benefited Australian floats such as the one for Telstra. The currency crisis eliminated Asian investors from the market, and other international investors are expected to focus on strengthening their local positions. Small-investment traders are also out to avoid risk. This enables large, financially stable institutions to buy available stock.

Hong Kong's link to the US and us

Article Abstract:

'Dr Doom' warns of trouble ahead

Article Abstract:

Veteran US economist Dr. Al Wojnilower predicts that the US stockmarket will fall drastically in 1999 or 2001. As the stockmarket continues to rise to astronomical rates, it will make the US economy more vulnerable to a major decrease in the stockmarket. The US economy has shifted from growth in a 'real economy' to growth of capital values.
