The Crunch Hasn't Come - Yet

Article Abstract:

In 1983 federal borrowing rose to $281 billion. However, severe upward pressure on interest rates did not occur. This is because there was a stong twenty per cent increase in funds that are available in credit markets. The picture may change in 1984. Buyers of United States Treasury securities bailed out the economy in 1983. This may not occur again in 1984. A chart is provided.
