The board of directors in family firms: one size fits all?

Article Abstract:

The need for family based businesses to employ an external board of directors apart from family members is discussed. A theory for the same is also discussed and the fact that power, experience and culture makeup are reflected in the boards characteristics is examined.

Entrepreneurship and family business in a hostile environment: the case of Lithuania

The strategies being adopted by family owned businesses and the non-family owned businesses in Lithuania are suggested. The economic environment in the country is not conducive to businesses.
