America's net national savings rate is down by 1.8% of net national product (NNP), Japan's government debt is 150% of GDP, Germany's deficit is likely to be 3.9% of GDP in 2004, France 3.8% and Portugal 3.3%. Australia's low savings will have a negative effect on economic growth.
