The man in the GST hot seat

Article Abstract:

Chris Jordan, the chairman of the advisory board for Australia's new goods and services tax system (GST), will attempt to ensure that the business sector, especially small business, is prepared for the new system. Businesses with less than an annual $500,000 turnover may choose cash or accrual accounting. The advisory board announced that $130 million of the $500 million allocated to assist business with GST implementation would provide for GST training.
