The missing link

Article Abstract:

Local area networks (LANs) improve data processing and communication among employees and consequently increase productivity. The use of LANs as a means of linking computer hardware and peripherals makes business procedures more efficient, faster and cost effective. Choosing the right LAN system requires careful analysis of business needs and knowledge of its basic elements. Consultation with a computer specialist may help in selecting the right system for a company. Lastly, employee training and storage policies should be considered before operation.

Understanding the link between personality and work behaviour

Article Abstract:

Management development and career management specialists use many methods to assess the personalities of the individuals with whom they work in order to help them fully develop their potential in the workplace. Two such instruments are the Myers Briggs Type Indicator and the Perception and Preference Inventory. A description of the two methods is presented, plus two case studies which show that a key factor in understanding individuals is the need to understand their true personalities.
