The nation's economic outlook

Article Abstract:

Global Insight expects the U.S. real gross domestic product to have a subdued growth of under 2%, from the first quarter of 2008 up tp the end of the year. The U.S. economy is also anticipated to begin entering recession at the start of 2009. Forecasts for U.S. consumer, business and monetary sectors are also supplied.

Article Abstract:

US economic growth is expected to continue into 2008, despite the fallout from the sub-prime mortgage crisis. Consumer spending is forecast to grow by 3.3%, the same rate as non-residential fixed investment growth. Inflation is expected to remain under two percent.
