The odds shorten for ANZ takeover

Article Abstract:

The ANZ Banking Group has not impressed security analysts between 1988 and 1998. It is considered one of the best stock buys in early 1998 because the price is so low that the bank is an excellent takeover target and cost reduction gains will be so large that the stock price will increase over the long term. The bank is attempting to increase domestic market share through growth and acquisitions.
