The organizational impact of profit sharing

Article Abstract:

Few studies have evaluated the organizational impact of profit sharing. What research has been done suggests that profit sharers experience greater financial success, higher levels of productivity, and more positive employee attitudes. However, several methodological weaknesses of the studies seriously limit understanding of the full benefits and limitations of profit sharing. A model of profit sharing is presented to foster improved research. (Reprinted by permission of the publisher.)

Managing acquisitions of strategic business units with the aid of the arbitrage pricing model

Article Abstract:

The Arbitrage Pricing Model (APM), developed in the securities investment literature, can enhance corporate managers' insights into the economic sensitivities of potential acquisition candidates. It may provide managers with greater analytical power than such popular models as the G.E. Business Screen and the Boston Consulting Group model. Use of the APM should improve the effectiveness of the acquisition screening process. (Reprinted by permission of the publisher.)
