The use of computer-mediated communication in an interorganizational context

Article Abstract:

Interorganizational electronic mail is frequently used in three areas including broadcast, task and social communication. The most frequent use of e-mai is found in broadcast, which signifies the information-gathering communication function. Task-related use or communications needed to complete group work is the second most frequent usage type of interorganizational e-mail. This involves information dessimination, problem solving or project coordinaiton. Seeking social contact as well as a job diversion is the third most frequent use of e-mail.

An empirically derived model for the adoption of customer-based interorganisational systems

Article Abstract:

Inter-organizational systems (IOS) are becoming commomplace allowing two or more companies to access and use information between them, giving them a competitive advantage. A further development is customer based interorganizational systems (CIOS) allied with innovation in the company. A research model has been made to show the impact of a CIOS on a company. The model developed a set of questions for management to consider before adopting such a system.

Examining the impact of International systems on process efficiency and sourcing leverage in buyer u supplier dyads

Article Abstract:

International systems (IOS) enable manufacturing firms to effectively manage different types of relationships with suppliers. Higher efficiencies and greater levels of external integration are obtained by firms which manufacturers standard products. Contrary to this, enhancing sourcing leverage over suppliers is obtained by firms enabled by IOS breadth and IOS initiation.
