Things to Come in the Insurance Industry

Article Abstract:

The insurance industry in the United States is taking advantage of technology advances in data processing, as the industry is expected to do in Australia. Insurance companies are using telephone communications to access data banks or on-line to salesmen in the field. Optical scanners are reading incoming premium receipts. Systems with word processing facilities are producing previously-formatted letters or incorporating data from a data base. Graphic presentation of information is becoming the norm.

Choosing Equipment for Office Automation

Article Abstract:

Productivity can be measured in terms of more output and revenue and less time, cost, and frustration. In word processing there are fewer errors because of instant correction and less need for filing space. Electronic mail reaches its destination faster than even the telephone. Proposals are accepted in less time when substantiated by graphic support. Easy access to data bases and communications with the central computer are essential to productive microcomputer systems.
