Thinking out loud: you assumed 'erase' wiped out that rant against the boss? Nope; keystroke loggers save it, so companies can peek inside employees' heads; 'moen ... money ... scholarship.'(Company Operations)

Article Abstract:

Many corporations are purchasing low-priced software programs that log and record each keystroke an employee makes at a computer. If the company is suspicious of particular employees, it can reconstruct all of the notes and correspondence entered on the employees' work computer, even if the data is not saved by the employee. The software allows extensive electronic employee monitoring and has privacy advocates up in arms.
