Turner's clean dream for the Goodwill Games

Article Abstract:

Campbell Rose has been hired by the Queensland government to organize the Goodwill Games in Brisbane in August 2001. His major challenge in planning the event will be to realize the dream of the Game's founder Ted Turner by presenting a prestigious international event with elite athletes. The Goodwill Games is a $150 million joint undertaking by Time Warner Inc., the Queensland government, and the Brisbane City Council. Turner Broadcasting Inc., a division of Time Warner Inc., will host the broadcast to about 100 countries.

Uni logs on to a global market

Article Abstract:

The University of Southern Queensland (USQ), with the help of its German underwriter Bretten City Council, is garnering more tuition revenue with the creation of USQ Online, an electronic campus offering lectures and tutorials via the Internet. The university's prime revenue comes from its 5000 foreign students, of which only 1000 are on campus. Seventy-five percent of USQ's 20,000 students are studying through electronic delivery.
