Verifying cost and schedule during design

Article Abstract:

Coordination between client, designer, contractors and materiel vendors beginning as early as the design phase improves the quality of the project. Verification of the design with contractors and vendors by the designer prior to the bidding process will eliminate excesses in high or low bidding and reduce the possibility of misrepresentation and misinterpretation. Deficient designs can be altered to include improvements based on vendor feedback and new technology.

Customerizing project management

Article Abstract:

It has been predicted that project management will become more customer-driven in the 1990s. However, project managers have been slow in coming up with concepts and tools that make it easier for customer demands to be met. The institutionalization of project management concepts and tools centered around the customer can be facilitated by modifying the concepts and tools utilized by the movement geared towards improving product quality.
