Waco, Texas standoff at cult compound drags on

The confrontation between the Branch Davidian religious group led by David Koresh and members of the US Bureau of the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Federal Bureau of Investigation and local police entered its 40th day Apr 8, 1993. An earlier gun battle left at least six people dead.

Four U.S. agents killed in raid on Texas cult

Article Abstract:

A standoff between agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the religious group Branch Davidians entered its 12th day Mar 11, 1993. Four agents were killed in an initial assault against the compound where the Branch Davidians are located.

Article Abstract:

The compound of the Branch Davidians, led by David Koresh, near Waco, TX, burned on Apr 19, 1993, killing about 86 cult members. The FBI, which had been part of a stand-off with the cult since Feb 28, 1993, called the fire a mass suicide.
