When mobile phones using the wireless application protocol (WAP) failed to catch on in Australia, companies such as mobile-content provider, BlueSkyFrog, needed to focus on an aspect of the business that is doing well. Text messaging on mobile phones has been very popular, especially among teenagers, and BlueSkyFrog is focusing on the short-messaging-system (SMS) corner of the mobile-phone market.

Share prices rising over asset backing, unrealistic distribution projections and increasing bond yields have all contributed to a less favorable view of the listed property trust sector. Brokerage houses are now informing their investors that they should decrease the portfolios in this area. Institutions have been shifting from direct property ownership to more liquid property trusts.
