Yeltsin reports draft charter completed

Yeltsin announced Jun 26, 1993, that a meeting of 692 conference delegates had produced a single draft of a new Russian constitution. However, the committee still needs to resolve disagreements over such issues as the sovereignty of ethnic minority republics.

Yeltsin fires officials, calls convention

Article Abstract:

Russian Pres Yeltsin dismissed deputy premier Georgi S. Khizha and state security council head Yuri V. Skokov for their opposition to his economic and political reforms. Yeltsin also called an assembly for preparing his draft constitution on Jun 5, 1993.
