427 certification delay
Article Abstract:
Certification of the Bell Helicopter Model 427 has been delayed due to unresolved pedal stop and tail rotor problems experienced with the Model 407. Bell is already integrating the modified mechanical pedal stops and tail rotor on the Model 407 production line. The system is also intended to be installed on the Model 427, although certification is contingent on when the Federal Communications Commission and Transport Canada can accept the workload.

Revolution Helicopter Corp, manufacturer of kit-build Mini 500 and Voyager helicopters, has ceased operations beginning Oct 25, 1999. In a letter sent to company customers, Pres Dennis Fetters blamed organized bad publicity, saboteurs and detractors group as the main reasons for the closure of the company. He also infomed customers that the company cannot anymore provide Mini 500 technical support, service or Voyager 500 testing production.

Upgraded Enstrom 480B
Article Abstract:
Enstrom Helicopters has launched a flight certification program for the Model 480B, an upgraded version of the turbine-engined Model 480. The program will involve 150 hours of reliability and performance trials to determine new flight manual parameters. Powered by a Rolls-Royce 250-C20W engine, the aircraft's take off power is increased 6% to 360shp, while continuous power is raised to 277shp from 269shp.
