A deal to turn some heads

Lindex is a Swedish retailer which has been acquired through a management buyout with aid from European Acquisition Capital (EAC) which provided a 50 million Swedish krone investment. The company operates in a relatively stable market since it focuses on value. Enhanced freedom is a benefit which accrued from the separation of Lindex from the company's parent. The lead investor involved in this transaction is Industri Kapital which is a local company.

Dickson bids for Barney's

Article Abstract:

Retailer Barney's Inc. of New York has been offered to be bought by Dickson Concepts (International) Ltd. for $240 million. However, Barney's application for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection must be approved first by the US bankruptcy court before the offer can push through. According to Dickson Poon, chairman of Dickson Concepts, the purchase will provide the firm access to US markets. The firm is ready to pay the amount proposed to Barney's.

BZW Private Equity goes for a New Look

BZW Private Equity (BZWPE) led the purchase of New Look, a womenswear retailer, co-underwritten by Prudential Venture Managers (PruVen). Bidder was new company, Vallsar, and the deal brings a period of uncertainty for the company to an end.
