Several European initial public offerings, including many in telecommunications, are planned for 2001, but some fund managers are wary of them feeling the disinterest in the market in late 2000 will spill over into the new year.

Deluge of telecom stocks may come

Article Abstract:

Governments in Europe and Asia are expected to unload large amounts of telecommunications stock in 2004 in an effort to make up for lost income due to decreased tax revenue. A glut of stocks may mean shares will have to be sold at low prices, which would threaten the value of existing shares.
