A diplomatic offensive

Article Abstract:

The uneasiness experienced by China over western countries' influence with regard to security related matters in Southeast Asia for instance Shangri-La Dialogue sponsored by International Institute for Strategic Studies of London and United States' joint military exercises with Malaysia, Thailand and others has been described. The step taken by China to counter United States' military dominance in Southeast Asia such as constituting Asean Regional Forum (ARF) Security Policy Conference has been mentioned.

A dividend from Saddam's capture

Article Abstract:

The affect of Saddam's capture on the United States move towards other regions like North Korea is discussed. It is suggested that taking the Iraq experience into consideration the U.S. should pull its strength to take sensible measures toward global security.

The high cost of a stalemate

The daunting challenges in maintaining South and North Korean relations are said to be an imminent threat. South Korea's foreign minister makes it clear that the political and economic costs to Seoul of a stalemate over North Korea show no signs of decreasing.
