A fuzzy multi-objective programming approach for optimal management of reservoir watershed

Article Abstract:

A model for the evaluation of sustainable reservoir watershed management strategies was developed based on a fuzzy multi-objective programming approach. The fuzzy multi-objective linear programming model was utilized for generating a set of more realistic and flexible optimal solutions for solving real-world complicated land development and water resources management issues. Furthermore, model formulation based on the fuzzy multi-objective programming approach successfully reflected system complexity and uncertainties in decision making.

Sensitivity analysis in linear programming: just be careful!

Article Abstract:

Three approaches have been found to be viable and useful in minimizing errors when standard software for sensitivity analysis in linear programming is used. One approach uses bases, another uses optimal partitions while the third uses optimal values. The approaches were evaluated by implementing them to a large practical linear programming model of an oil refinery with results showing viability and usefulness.
