A long way from Paris

Article Abstract:

The United Kingdom Labor party has come to occupy the center-right of politics, and this could lead to problems, some critics argue. The Conservatives argue that Labor will have to move back to its traditional concerns with justice and compassion. Some traditional supporters have also criticised Labor, which has not performed well in European elections. There is also an argument that Labor only appears to occupy the center-right, and in fact has passed a number of measures to help the poor, and should change its presentation. Neither argument is correct, and Labor should continue its path, since poor performances in European and regional elections do not mean that it will perform porly in general elections.

New Labour, old story

Article Abstract:

There have been corruption allegations against the United Kingdom government but there is little evidence to show that the allegations are true. The Observer newspaper claims that confidential information is being sold by political insiders, but bases much of its case on evidence from Derek Draper, a political lobbyist who admits to being a braggart. Prime minister, Tony Blair, should be more concerned why the allegations have been believed. Hoarding of information can lead to revulsion against the inner circle round the government.

The Blair revolution, cont'd

Article Abstract:

There have been corruption allegations against the United Kingdom government which rest mainly on the claims of Derek Draper, an implausible character. The allegations have been made by the Observer newspaper and relate to claims about the sale of confidential information. New Labor has been presented as different from the Conservative party, presented as sleazy and arrogant. The allegations undermine the claims of the Labor party to be open and honest.
