A maid for all reasons

Article Abstract:

Joan of Arc is a key figure in French national identity, and has been presented in a number of ways in movies and literature. She has been presented as a patriot and as a figure of reconciliation, while Charles de Gaulle, former French president, saw her as pure and saintly. She was killed in 1431 in Rouen, France, after helping to lift a siege that the English had imposed on Orleans in 1429. She was condemned for witchcraft and heresy. There are a number of websites that testify to her continued popularity.

Article Abstract:

The evidence on cancer screening and age is unreliable so the research organizations had been sending mixed messages. Now they advocate routine screening for all ages. This is because the politics of cancer research, care, and diagnosis is influenced by the large sums of money involved.
