The recent tour of the United States trade representative Robert Zoellick, indicates a positive wave of trade relations between the two countries. The causes for concern are only the wide trade gap between the countries, and the US export rules that fix a limit on the type of hi-tech equipment to be sold to China.

The pros and cons of market liberalization of the Asian markets is discussed. The opening of Asian stock markets has not reduced the adverse effects of market speculation. The foreign capital flows into the big companies rather than the growing ones. The competition however, does improve the corporate governance.
