A route-neighborhood-based metaheuristic for vehicle routing problem with time windows

Article Abstract:

A Route-NEighborhood-based Two-Stage (RNETS) metaheuristic that is based on a relationship between routes and nodes is proposed for solving the vehicle routing problem with time windows. The objective is to develop a technique in solving the problem such that either the attainment of a high quality fast-solution or an attempt to find the optimal solution can be obtained. Results indicate that the overall solution quality of RNETS is very competitive with other existing heuristics.
