A winning ticket?

Article Abstract:

Ticketmaster has developed from a small producer of ticketing machinery to a company selling over 70 million tickets in 1997, accounting for some 33% of the US live market. USA Networks has acquired a 55% stake in Ticketmaster, adding to its existing stake. The company sells tickets through affiliate vendors and telephone operators. Ticketmaster also has links to the internet. Meanwhile, SFX Entertainment has developed as an impresario, and could use a ticketing business of its own to compete with Ticketmaster.

Another way to say 'I love you.'(US songs of 1930s and 1940s)

Article Abstract:

Ira Gershwin, Cole Porter and other songwriters of the 1930s and 1940s could be considered poets. They wrote at a time of economic difficulties and focused on love songs, using English with respect, with many writers coming from immigrant families. Some of the lyrics had to be changed for mass consumption, and censorship was sometimes imposed. Fashions changed with the advent of war, and sophistication was less sought after in songs. Lyrics suffered in terms of their artistic content.
