Air France posts an 11% in full-year profit

Article Abstract:

Air France posted an 11% decline in its income for the 1998 year. The carrier was hurt by a pilot's strike and by a slowdown in the freight industry. However, Air France did move forward on its three-year cost reduction strategy. Jean-Cyril Spinetta, the carrier's chief executive officer, predicted that Air France would see a major financial improvement for the 1999 fiscal year. Air France posted 1.6 billion French francs (243.9 million euros) after taxes for the year ending on March 31, 1999.
