AIWA REACHES OUT-OF-COURT SETTLEMENT WITH PEDIGREE

Article Abstract:

Pedigree Industries, Chennai, has concluded an out of court settlement with Aiwa of Japan, a consumer electronics producer. The settlement will enable Aiwa to launch its audios and colour televisions in the Indian markets through Baron Electronics. Earlier, Pedigree Industries which is the distributor of Aiwa products in India had filed a case against Aiwa. Aiwa had been charged of not informing Pedigree Industries about the appointment of Baron Electronics as its Indian distributor and for stopping its product supplies to Pedigree. The Chennai High Court had stopped Aiwa from appointing Baron Electronics as its Indian distributor. (ag)

VIDEOCON INTL TO LAUNCH DISHWASHER TO BEAT THE BAI

Article Abstract:

Videocon International Ltd will introduce fully automatic dishwashers in March 1999. The product is priced at Rs19,900 and is suitable for Indian conditions. The company claims that it has been specifically designed to clean Indian utensils like pressure cookers, kadais and degchis. The company has projected sales of 20,000 units in the first year of launch. (khr)
