AJ Corus/40 Under 40

Article Abstract:

The first 40 Under 40 exhibition held in 1985, although a confidence booster for young architects in the profession saw very few new buildings due to circumstances of the economy and obsessive conservation. However, the 2005 40 Under 40 exhibition witnessed an increasingly design-savvy public breeding a new generation of private clients and government-backed initiatives such as Schools for the Future and the Heritage Lottery Fund creating numerous opportunities for young talent.

A ranking of the top 100 architects of United Kingdom is presented highlighting each of their achievements in the form of landmark creations and their earnings. BDP has topped the ranking for the fourth year in a row and is responsible for about 2 percent of all new, non-housing buildings in the UK each year.
