MM Forgings (MMF) is a leading exporter of forgings in southern India. It had floated a public issue of Rs10 shares carrying a premium of Rs25 to increase its closed-die production capacity from 6,000 tonnes per annum to 15,000 tonnes per annum. MMF's plants are at Singampunari and Viralimalai in Tamil Nadu. In 1996-97, MMF made a net profit of Rs38.2 million on sales of Rs497.4 million. Its equity was Rs30.2 million. Kabsons Industries Ltd is a leader in the liquefied petroleum gas private segment with a cylinder manufacturing unit and 14 bottling plants. The company started selling LPG cylinders in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Orissa from 1997-98. It posted a net profit of Rs1.2 million on sales of 27.6 million in 1997-98.
