APPLE TO REMODEL INDIA BUSINESS PLAN

Article Abstract:

Apple Computer is restructuring its Indian business and is set to announce a new model shortly. The company recently launched three new products - a desktop, a notebook series and a flat panel display. Among them is the 300 mega Hertz (MHz) Power Macintosh G3 carrying a price tag of Rs224,000. The PowerBook G3 notebook computers have been launched in three configurations - 233 MHz priced Rs161,000, 250 MHz priced Rs254,000 and 292 MHz priced 369,000. (uh)

HP, VERIFONE TO MERGE INDIAN OPERATIONS

Article Abstract:

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has decided to merge the operations of Verifone India into the Rs650-crore Hewlett-Packard India. Verifone Inc, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard worldwide, has been operating as a separate entity in India. Verifone Inc provides secure electronic payment solutions. SILICON GRAPHICS (I) UNVEILS PLAN FOR ISPS

Article Abstract:

Silicon Graphics Systems (India) Ltd has announced a new strategy for internet service providers (ISPs). SGI India Initiative has been launched. As the cost of money in India is highest in the world, Indian ISPs will try to offer services at a low investment. It has projected a subscriber base of 15 lakh in the next two years from 1.5 lakh.
