Flectalon of Wales, UK, has conducted unofficial trials of its special insulating material in cooperation with the British armed forces. The material, also called Flectalon, is made from aluminized polyvinylchloride fiber. The trials, conducted with the 2nd Battalion of the Parachute Regiment and the Royal Marines, confirmed the camouflage material's ability to significantly reduce the thermal signature of soldiers and equipment.

Breakthrough set to clean up small arms market

Article Abstract:

Inland Technology Inc has developed a system that reduces the time required for cleaning small arms. The Tacoma, WA-based company's IT-48C system, which has been adapted by the US Army, is touted to be capable of reducing the time required for cleaning military rifles by about two- thirds. Inland Technology, which has a field deployable unit tagged as the IT-32D, also comes with its own special non-toxic cleaning solvent.
