Airbus's engine trouble: GE fight could stall revived A350 project; fresh Atlantic storm?

Article Abstract:

France's Airbus S.A.S. and General Electric Co. have run into a disagreement over the jet engines GE is supplying for the Airbus A350 airplane. The A350 is designed to compete with American rival Boeing Co.'s 777 model, for which GE also supplies the engines. However, GE officials have indicated to Airbus they will not manufacture a new engine that competes with the 777.

Boeing poised to get $10 billion in new business

Article Abstract:

Boeing Co. of the United States is expecting increased orders for aircraft estimated at approximately 395 planes this year. A deal valued at $3.5 billion for 777 planes is on the horizon. Increase in business is due to airlines updating their fleets and the uncertainty by difficulties at rival Airbus.

Airbus wins major order: up to 100 jets

Article Abstract:

Leasing firm AWAS (Ireland) Ltd. has purchased 75 single-aisle aircraft from Airbus S.A.S., with an option to buy 25 more, a deal valued at $6.9 bil. Airbus reported a booking of 1,204 gross orders through November 2007 excluding cancellations.
