Airsys ATM in Azerbaijan

Article Abstract:

Airsys ATM, a joint venture between Thomson-CSF Airsys and Siemens, has received a $18.5-million contract from Azerbaijan Airlines as part of the terminal renovation project at Baku International Airport in Azerbaijan. The contract calls for finishing the construction of two buildings which were not completed after the Soviet Union dissolved. The deal also calls for the supply and deployment of systems and equipment, such as power distribution, passenger boarding bridges, baggage handling, flight information, security systems, furniture and information signs.

Geneva's changing signs

Article Abstract:

PD Systems was chosen by Geneva International Airport to provide CRT monitors for its new terminal which will be opened in June 2000. The monitors will provide flight and passenger information and will have external connectors to enable to be installed anywhere in the airport. The monitors, which are based on the firm's Visionmaster display, include an infrared remote control that enables airport staff to conduct regular checks of unit performance.

High for Hochtief

Article Abstract:

A consortium led by the German construction giant Hochtief has won a contract to build the new Berlin Bradenburg International Airport. Contract signing is expected by the end of 1998, although unforeseen complications could give the other group led by German real estate company IVG another chance. The new single gateway airport is projected to cost beween $3 billion and $5 billion and have a capacity of up to 20 million passengers annually.
