Aker Raumalle miljardin markan tuotantolautan tilaus

Article Abstract:

Finland's Aker Rauma Offshore has received an order, worth Fmk 1bn (US$ 0.2bn), on a oil-drilling rig base from a major international oil company who does not want their name to be published. The rig will begin production in 1999 on the Gulf of Mexico. According to Aker Rauma, the rig production began already in winter 1997-98 on the basis of a preliminary agreement and the final order agreement was signed on 9 June 1998. The order is for a Spar type rig which Aker Rauma has built two before. The rig is of cylinder shape with a diameter of 40 meters, weighing 32,000 tons. In 1997 Aker Rauma's turnover amounted to Fmk 700mn, but in 1998 it will exceed Fmk 1bn due to several orders.

Finnyards sai tutkimusalustilauksen

Article Abstract:

Finnish Aker Finnyards has signed a letter of intent for delivering a seismic research vessel to Norwegian Aker Geo. The value of the order is FIM 300mn (USD 58mn). Aker Geo has acquired a ready hull for the vessel from Romania. In Finland the hull will be enlarged and equipped. The vessel will be delivered in summer 1999. The vessel will be owned by a shipping company to be chosen later and Aker Geo will rent it for their usage. The order base of Aker Finnyards amounts to FIM 1.1mn, including the new order.

Finnish ABB Industry will deliver the main electrifications to 3 large cruise ships to be built in the Masa-Yards shipyards in Finland and Meyer-Werft shipyards in Germany. The ships are ordered by American Carnival Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean International and Italian Costa Crociere. The value of the orders exceeds Fmk 0.5bn (US$ 90mn). The orders come with option for deliveries for 3 sister ships.
