Aliachem will focus on products with a high added value

Article Abstract:

Aliachem (Prague, Czech Republic), chemical production and trade firm, saw proceeds of about 9.7 bil Kc in 1999. About 4.5 bil Kc of the sum were generated by the plant Synthesia (Pardubice, Czech Republic), 1.6 bil Kc by Fatra (Napajedla, Czech Republic), about 2.6 bil Kc by Moravske chemicke zavody (Ostrava, Czech Republic) and about 1 bil Kc by Technoplast (Czech Republic). Roughly 57% of Aliachem's production are intended for exports. About 13% of its exports go to Germany, 9% to Slovakia and 8% to Italy. Besides, the firm exports to Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, the US, France, the UK, Austria, Switzerland and the Ukraine. Approximately 7% of the firm's exports go to other states. Aliachem has about 8,000 employees. The company has its own development base, which generates about 600 mil Kc of its annual proceeds. Aliachem will realise a restructuring programme in 1999-2003. The programme is aimed to ensure suitable conditions for the capital entrance of foreign investors.

The launching of chemical products to the market

Article Abstract:

Vyzkumny ustav organickych syntez (VUOS) (Pardubice, Czech Republic), chemical research institution, has a complete base for the testing of chemicals in 2000. The firm's centre for the environment, toxicology and analysis is the sole centre in the Czech Republic to test chemicals in accordance with the new Czech legislation that has come into existence by the implementation of the directions of the European Union for the field. The testing according to the system of the Correct Laboratory Practice is the necessary condition for the launching of a new chemical product to the market for Czech firms.

Chemical products for industrial processing

Article Abstract:

Czech Republic: In 1999 the chemical industry generated about 14.5% of the proceeds from the industrial activities of the Czech processing industry, 12.7% of the added value and 8.3% of the number of employees in 1999. The chemical industry represented more than 13% of the Czech exports of industrial goods and more than 19% of the Czech imports in 1999. Exports represent roughly 65% of proceeds and imports cover about 76% of domestic demand. The chemical industry includes the refinery processing of petroleum including coking, the chemical and pharmaceutical industry and the plastic industry.
