The US faces a tough task as it tries to win Muslim support for its fight against those behind the Sep 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the US. The increasing politicisation of Islam and the history of US unilateral action in the region means many Muslims and Arabs do not trust the US.

The propaganda war
Article Abstract:
US military action against Afghanistan's Taliban government and the al-Qaeda terrorists has not yet started, but the propaganda war is well under way. The US will only be able to maintain the support of Arab and Muslim countries if it can convince them that the cause is a just one.
