Amgen net shrank by 25% in quarter; drug passes test

Article Abstract:

Amgen Inc. posted a decline of 25% in its net income for the 2000 fourth-quarter. The company posted $210.8 million (228.5 million euros) net income for the period. Amgen also said its anemia drug passed the required tests for regulator approval.

Amgen boost profit outlook for 1999, shows progress on new arthritis drug

Article Abstract:

Amgen Inc. posted an improvement in its net income for the second-quarter of 1999. Amgen's quarterly net income increased 24%. The company increased its earnings guidance for the entire 1999 year and also said that its new arthritis drug could be introduced into the market sooner than expected. Amgen posted $267.6 million (263.5 million euros) in profits for the period. This was higher than what analysts predicted by four cents per share.
