Analysts bank on colony's Dao Heng

Article Abstract:

Investment analysts are taking an interested look at Hong Kong's Dao Heng Bank Ltd. (Dao Heng) because it offers high growth and better protection from increasing interest rates. They also believe that the company's share price is a bargain at $2.35, some nine times of the consensus forecast of 1995 per-share earnings. Many believe that Dao Heng's less-than-satisfactory performance in recent months can be attributed to an inherent weakness in the banking sector and not in the stock itself.

Investors in Thailand may find bank stocks attractive

Article Abstract:

Thailand's bank stocks are expected to soar high as the central bank continues to unleash foreign liquidity. These will be reinforced by an impending International Monetary Fund (IMF) package aimed to strengthen Thailand's banking system. By now, only Bangkok PCL and Thai Farmers Bank PCL are offering less-risks foreign investments. Analysts see slimmer chances for small banks like the Bank of Asia to withstand an IMF tight monetary and fiscal policies.
