Anita Hoffman

Article Abstract:

Anita Hoffman was the wife of Abbie Hoffman, and a leading figure in the Yippie movement. Her ideas were often important in political protests of the 1960s, and it was she who suggested seeking to levitate the Pentagon. She also set fire to dollar bills at the New York Stock Exchange, and the potent image of burning money appeared in the press. She was faithful to the memory of Abbie Hoffman, who died in 1989, having previously separated from her.
